I’m Michael. I use smolkin.org as a home base for writing about practical software engineering, small tools I build, and notes from projects I’m working on. Most posts are “what I learned while doing X” style: debugging write-ups, deployment notes, and step-by-step guides.
This site also hosts a few small web apps and add-ons. If something looks like a product page, it’s usually something I built for myself first and then cleaned up enough to share.
Editorial policy: When I write about products or services, I try to be explicit about what I actually tested, what I paid for, and what I didn’t. Some pages contain affiliate links. If a link is monetized, it won’t change the content of the post, but it may help fund hosting and development.
Contact: The easiest way to reach me is via the contact form on the contact page. If you’re writing about a bug/security issue on one of the apps hosted here, please include a URL to the app and steps to reproduce the issue.
