Free Cash Flow
The cash a business generates from operations after subtracting the capital spending needed to maintain or grow it.
Free cash flow is the money genuinely available to return to shareholders (dividends, buybacks) or reinvest. A buyback funded by real free cash flow is healthier than one funded by new debt.
